As a business that sells clothes, I think it would be a good idea to use newsletters to push new products and promote sales. It would make sense to send out emails quarterly for each season of clothes. I would primarily use newsletters as a sales generator so including a "call to action" in each post would be key.
I personally do not like getting promotional emails. I prefer businesses that use them sparingly and only to promote a sale that they are having. That way, whenever I do actually get an email from that company, I'm more willing to open it knowing that it will contain a coupon or information on the latest sale. I will attempt to use the philosophy for my business and experiment with frequency and types of posts as well. Regardless, email promotions will primarily be a sales generator versus a relationship builder. I find that social media does a better job at this task than email marketing. In order to bridge the gap between the two, I can include links to Prizmatic's social media platforms in the footer of each email.
In order to provide incentive for signing up for our newsletter, I would offer a coupon code for their next purchase.

Hi Austin,
ReplyDeleteYour idea for quarterly newsletter campaigns is very thoughtful as you base it on seasons and the need to update wardrobes accordingly. The quarterly frequency is also great as I dislike being inundated with too many emails that I feel unnecessary and ultimately decide to opt-out from their recipient list. Cheers!
Great idea about the email club building, offering a coupon code. I was thinking of a sales contest but a discount is better. I really enjoyed your blog and I got some great ideas.
ReplyDeleteYou have a good grasp of what works in a newsletter/email format and how to reach your potential clients. Consistency and frequency are key to success and over time will make a difference on your bottom line.
ReplyDeleteDoing quarterly emails for the season is a good idea! I only open store emails when I know there is a coupon so its good you include coupons when you send out the newsletters.
